Zach was born and raised in Colorado. He moved to the Gunnison Valley in 2004 to attend Western State University. He graduated in 2009 with a BFA in Art. An avid lover of the outdoors, his adventures help indicate his art. Many times, he can be found on the ski slopes or mountain bike trails with a pen and sketchbook in hand. A Plein air painter, he also teaches when the weather allows. He has taught many classes for the Center for the Arts and continues to do so today. Zach is also a member of the Artists of Crested Butte. His artworks can be found on Instagram @activatenature and online at ActivateNature.net
